Christine & Michael started Luck & Legends Saint Bernard Rescue in December of 2006, after moving to Texas (from California) and deciding they now had enough time, love, and land to make a small difference in the lives of some unwanted critters. They originally got involved with Saint rescue in CA by fostering a blind & deaf Saint named “Bumble”. When she eventually went to heaven, and there was no Saint rescue program in Texas from which to foster again, it was time to start one (they had no idea how much work this would be!).
In their “non-rescue” time, Michael holds a job in corporate America, and Christine works for a pet hospital. Their resident “family” consists of 2 dogs (who serve as traveling companions for scared rescues on trips to the vet) named Sanibel (Saint Bernard) & JR(Golden Retriever), 2 horses: Sir Travis (Thoroughbred ex-racehorse), & Fiord (Arabian) who “train” the rescues to be mindful and respectful of livestock and Tommy, the resident barn cat, who works as a “tester” to see how the rescues like cats (and she isn’t too keen on her job assignment!).
